To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many children were eligible for free school meals in each of the last five years.

Information on the number and percentage of pupils known to be eligible for and claiming free school meals, for 2008 to 2012, is shown in the tables.

Information is not available on those who may be eligible but do not make a claim.
