To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what assessment he has made of whether the guidance contained in the document, Planning for Renewable Energy: A Companion Guide to Planning Policy Statement 22, published by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, remains valid.

This guidance has not been cancelled but with the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework it is now out of date in part. The Government is considering what underpinning guidance is needed to support implementation of policies in the framework. Until such time as the guidance review is complete, existing guidance, where relevant, can still be used.
