Providers of National Health Service primary medical services will be required to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) from 1 April 2013. The CQC has made good progress in putting in place the mechanisms for registering these providers, who will be able to open their online applications in July. We are informed by the Commission that it is on course to carry out the registration of these providers by April 2013.
