To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend to disband the 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (Duke of Wellington's); and, if so, why.

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they consider that the Duke of Wellington should continue to be commemorated in the Army List; and, if not, why not.

With regard to the future of The 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, I refer my noble friend to the answer given by my honourable friend, the Minister for Armed Forces, in the other place on 18 April 2012 (Hansard, Commons, col. 376W).

The Army List is no longer in publication. However, my noble friend may be assured that the Government are aware of the justifiably great pride which local communities have in their units and their glorious histories; and fully recognise the strength of identity which comes from regimental cap badges and titles.
