To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent assessment she has made of the recruitment criteria for the police; and whether she has any plans to change them.

Tom Winsor's recommendations on entry requirements for the police have been referred to the Police Advisory Board for England and Wales. The Secretary of State for the Home Department, my right hon. Friend Mrs May, will give careful consideration to the advice offered by the board on this matter before taking any final decision.
