The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, my right hon. Friend Mrs Spelman, has not considered placing the brent goose on schedule 2 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (‘the quarry list’), and has had no discussions on the matter with either the Countryside Alliance or the British Association for Shooting and Conservation.
