To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills whether due diligence checks for higher education course designation take into account the applicant's parent company.

The due diligence checks currently undertaken for higher education course designation take account of a range of factors including consideration of the applicant's parent company.

As set out in the Government Response to the White Paper consultation we will be reviewing the existing student support course designation system for alternative providers to include more robust and transparent requirements on quality assurance, financial sustainability and management and governance.
