Data on the number of adults aged 18 and over in receipt of meals as a community-based service, funded wholly or partly by councils with adult social services responsibilities (CASSRs), are collected and published by the NHS Information Centre for Health and Social Care each year as part of the annual Social Services Activity Report. The most recent report, for the financial year 2010-11, was published on 28 March 2012. It is available on the Information Centre website at:

www.ic.nhs.uk/statistics-and-data-collections/social-care/adult-social-care-information

We are informed by the Information Centre that, during 2010-11, 81,460 adults were in receipt of meals as a community-based service funded wholly or partly by CASSRs.
