To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will undertake an assessment of the level of public awareness of Gift Aid declaration forms.
The public awareness of Gift Aid, and of tax relief for charitable giving, have been the subject of research studies published by HMRC, including:
‘Charitable Giving by Wealthy People’, April 2007
‘Gift Aid donor research: Exploring options for reforming higher-rate relief’, December 2009
‘Key Barriers to the Adoptions of Gift Aid’, March 2008
