To ask the Secretary of State for Health

(1) what recent assessment he has made of the financial performance of South London Healthcare NHS Trust;

(2) what recent representations he has received regarding the future structure of South London Healthcare NHS Trust following the planned departure of its chief executive.

The financial performance of South London Healthcare NHS Trust is being monitored and reviewed by NHS London, the trust's strategic health authority, and the Department.

The Secretary of State for Health, my right hon. Friend Mr Lansley, has received representations from local hon. Members in relation to the future structure of South London Healthcare NHS Trust. On Monday 25 June, the Secretary of State wrote to South London Healthcare NHS Trust and local NHS partners to inform them that he is considering using the Trust Special Administrator's regime to support development of a long-term solution for the trust. No final decisions have been taken.
