To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many fatal air accidents there were in the UK in the last 10 years; and what comparative assessment she has made of the number of such accidents in the UK and in other EU member states.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) publishes an annual safety review. This includes statistics on European and worldwide civil aviation safety which are grouped according to type of operation, for instance commercial air transport, and aircraft category, such as aeroplanes, helicopters and gliders.
