To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much her Department has spent on legal fees for (a) Abu Qatada and (b) her Department since 2002.

Legal fees incurred by the Government to deport Abu Qatada are £0.82 million up to 30 April 2012. The case is ongoing, and so further costs are likely to be incurred.
