To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what assessment he has made of the security and stability of the technology involved in the proposed Yorkshire and Humber Carbon Capture, Transportation and Storage pipeline project.

I have made no estimate of the security and stability of the pipeline involved in the proposed Yorkshire and Humber Carbon Capture, Transportation and Storage Project. The project may feature in proposals we expect to receive as part of the CCS Commercialisation programme announced on 3 April 2012. If so, the technical feasibility of these projects will be assessed as part of that process.
