The Government keep all options for developing a sustainable economy in the Pitcairn Islands under review, but specific proposals for a light aircraft landing strip are not under discussion. Current strategies for developing tourism on Pitcairn are based around increasing tourist numbers arriving by cruise ship, by private yacht and on the scheduled sailings of the MV "Claymore II".
