To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change pursuant to the answer of 19 April 2012, Official Report, columns 487-8W, on the Green Deal scheme, how long he expects training leading to a Green Deal adviser qualification to take for those not already trained and qualified as energy assessors.
The length of training required for each candidate will depend on their existing level of skills. Those starting from scratch are likely to require approximately 32 days of training while those with other relevant skills are expected to receive credit, reducing the length of the training required.
The Government recently announced £1 million for the training of up to 1,000 advisors in readiness for the rollout of the Green Deal. Details will be announced shortly.
