To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office how many special advisers are in post; and how many special advisers have been appointed as civil servants since May 2010.
Since May 2010 the Government have published on a quarterly basis details of special advisers, who are temporary civil servants.
The most recent information is available in the Library of the House and can also be accessed on the Cabinet Office website at:
