To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how many and what proportion of senior civil servants in his Department were from an ethnic minority in March (a) 2010, (b) 2011 and (c) 2012; and if he will make a statement.
The latest figures on the number and percentage of senior civil servants (SCS) in the Department for International Development (DFID) from a black and ethnic minority (BME) background were:

These are based on quarterly returns. The data for March 2012 will not be available until after
DFID has produced annual departmental staff reports containing this information for several years and these have been available on request.
