To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the comment by India's Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, that "We do not require the aid. It is a peanut in our total development exercises".

The remarks made by the Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in a parliamentary debate in 2010 have been quoted out of context by the media and do not represent the Indian Government's current position. India's Finance Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry have issued statements making clear the value they attach to the development partnership with Britain.
