Energy and Climate Change written question – answered at on 9 February 2012.
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change which contracts his Department has tendered or will tender in 2011-12 which require successful organisations to have a capital bond of more than £5 million; which contracts have not required such a bond; and if he will make a statement.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change does not require organisations to have capital bonds for its contracts. All potential suppliers are checked to ensure they have sufficient funds to carry out the services of a contract before the contract is let.
