Work and Pensions written question – answered at on 20 December 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions when he last reviewed the incapacity benefit reassessment letters; if he will publish the outcome of his most recent review of the incapacity benefit reassessment letters; and when he next plans to review the incapacity benefit reassessment letters.
In May 2011 changes were made to reassessment letters as part of a release of various IT improvements to reflect feedback that had been received about the quality of reassessment letters from claimants and customer representative groups. There are no plans for a general review of all reassessment letters or for publication of such a review. We continue to keep letters under review in the light of feedback received and other changes such as amendments to legislation.
