To ask the Secretary of State for Defence pursuant to the answer of 26 October 2011, Official Report, column 261W, on radioactive waste, for what reason the information identified in the answer as not held centrally and available only at disproportionate cost has subsequently been provided in response to a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The answer I gave on 26 October 2011, Hansard, column 261W, related to locations of the burial of radium fragments which is not held centrally.

In response to a freedom of information request, the Ministry of Defence provided details of sites where soil contaminated with radium had been identified as part of the update to the 2010 UK Radioactive Waste Inventory, which is already in the public domain.
