To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many hours on average Red Arrows pilots flew (a) in flight training and (b) as flight trainers in each of the last 12 months for which figures are available.

The Red Arrows 12-month season runs from 1 October to 30 September. The following table gives information for the average training hours flown by the Red Arrow pilots for the 2011 season.

(1) Figures are rounded up to the nearest hour.

Pilots serving with the Red Arrows are not required to conduct flight training duties. Therefore no flying hours are recorded as flight trainers.
