Nuclear safety is a top priority. The relevant recommendations from Dr Weightman's report will be implemented as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and any such associated costs to the Department will be borne by the overall departmental budget. Any increase in costs for new nuclear power stations will be borne by the operators.
