To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change

(1) what information he has received from the National Grid on the auditing criteria it applies to its contracts with short-term operating reserve aggregators;

(2) what information he has received from the National Grid on the number of short-term operating reserve contracts that it has audited in the last year.

National Grid, as the system operator, is responsible for keeping the system in balance, including the procurement of balancing services under the terms of its transmission licence. National Grid is not required to report to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne.
