To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what recent discussions he has had with the International Committee of the Red Cross on the progress of reconstruction and resettlement in Sri Lanka.

The Secretary of State for International Development, my right hon. Friend Mr Mitchell, has not had any recent discussions with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on the progress of reconstruction and resettlement in Sri Lanka. However, the British high commission in Colombo meets regularly with all international agencies present in Sri Lanka. They have regular discussions with the ICRC about the situation in Sri Lanka.
