To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what risk registers are held by the non-departmental public bodies for which his Department is responsible; and if he will make a statement.

Non-departmental public bodies associated with BIS have responsibility themselves to ensure that they have appropriate risk management tools and processes in place. The core Department does not hold information on individual organisations' risk registers.

Details of the Department's risk and control framework can be found in the annual report and accounts 2010-11:

“The Department's approach is to assign risks to those best placed to manage them. Our approach is to establish clear accountability and ownership of risk so as to ensure the risk is managed at the appropriate level and mechanisms are in place to escalate significant risks to senior management”.
