The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, my right hon. Friend Mrs Spelman, has discussed apprenticeships in the agricultural sector within her wider discussions on the food chain with the Food and Drink Federation, the Farmers’ Club, IGD Policy Issues Council and the Women’s Food and Farming Union. The ministerial team has also had discussions with the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink and the IGD skills group on a number of issues including apprenticeships.
