To ask the Secretary of State for Education what steps he has taken to ensure that all free school employees have been CRB checked.

Free schools have a statutory duty to ensure that all members of staff have received an enhanced CRB check prior to their appointment or as soon as practically possible thereafter, and that this check confirms their suitability to work with children.
