To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how many internal audits have taken place (a) in her Department and (b) in the non-departmental bodies for which her Department is responsible in the last 12 months; and if she will make a statement.

The number of internal audits reported upon in the period 1 November 2010 to 31 October 2011 was (a) 38 in core DEFRA and (b) 221 in the executive agencies, non-departmental public bodies and public corporations that DEFRA is responsible for (excluding the National Parks).
