To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change pursuant to the answer of 6 December 2011, Official Report, column 211W, on carbon sequestration: finance, when the competition for the carbon capture and storage fund will close; and over what timetable he expects the carbon capture and storage competition fund to be distributed.

We will be launching an accelerated process for the selection of CCS projects as soon as possible. The detailed profile of spend will be determined by the projects selected and when they require funding.
