To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change if the funding he announced to finance climate change adaptation and mitigation in his speech at the Grantham Institute on 24 November 2011 will meet the transparency criteria promoted by the International Aid Transparency Initiative.

Yes. This Government are committed to being open and transparent on how UK climate finance is spent. I announced a package of programmes to finance climate change adaptation and mitigation in Durban on 6 December. All of the programmes contribute to UK Official Development Assistance (ODA) and information will be published to meet the transparency standards promoted by the International Aid Transparency Initiative.
