To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many children in each secondary school year group were permanently excluded from (a) academies, (b) free schools and (c) other schools in (i) the 2011-12 academic year to date and (ii) each of the previous three academic years.

Information on the number of permanent exclusions in academies and other state-funded secondary schools from 2007/08 to 2009/10 is shown in the table. Information for 2010/11 and 2011/12 has not yet been collected, and as a result there is no available information on free schools.
