To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what assessment she has made of the case for compulsory micro-chipping of dogs.

The Government are considering a range of measures to deal with dangerous dogs and irresponsible dog ownership. One of the proposals under consideration is the compulsory micro-chipping of dogs. We have made it a priority to look at the complex issue of dangerous dogs and will shortly announce measures to tackle them and make our streets safer.
