To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will assist, formally or informally, those drafting a new constitution for Turkey, drawing on the United Kingdom's experience of devolution and protection for minorities.

It is up to the recently formed Cross-Party Conciliation Commission in Turkey, in consultation with civil society, to reform the country's constitution. The Turkish Government have indicated that they are also looking at the constitutions of several European Union countries to inform their own reform. We continue to monitor the reform's progress and stand ready to assist if asked.
