To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pursuant to the answer of 15 November 2011, Official Report, column 729W, on universal credit, what proportion of the funds allocated to the implementation of universal credit will be spent on (a) IT development, (b) programme management and (c) design of the universal credit system and processes in 2011-12.
The Department is currently forecasting to spend £105 million of the budget allocated to the implementation of universal credit in the financial year 2011-12. The majority will be spent on IT development with the balance on programme management and the design of the universal credit system and processes.
