To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what assessment he has made of the future role of UK School Games; and if he will make a statement.

The sixth and final UK School Games took place in Sheffield over 1-4 September this year. The new School Games national finals will continue, and build on, the tradition of a multi-sport, multi-day national event for elite young athletes. The first School Games national finals will take place over 6-9 May 2012.
