To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment he has made of staffing levels at the Care Quality Commission.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England and has a key responsibility in the overall assurance of essential levels of safety and quality of health and adult social care services.

It is for the CQC to determine the appropriate staffing complement for its organisation in order to carry out its functions efficiently and effectively.
