To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what her top three priorities for flood prevention are for 2012; and if she will make a statement.

Our priorities for managing flood risk remain those we set out in the programme for government. These are taking forward the findings of the Pitt review to improve our flood defences, avoiding unnecessary building in areas of high flood risk and maintaining an effective and robust capability to respond to flooding emergencies.
