To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has held with (a) Ministers in the Scottish Government and (b) Scottish police forces regarding the border access checks pilot introduced in summer 2011.

The Secretary of State for Scotland, Michael Moore, and I have regular meetings with our Cabinet colleagues, Members of the Scottish Government and the Scottish police force to discuss matters of Home Office policy as they affect Scotland. The daily operation of the border force is a matter for the UK Border Agency.
