To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport how many Roman archaeological sites there are in (a) each region and (b) each nation; and if he will make a statement.

English Heritage's National Record of the Historic Environment database indicates that English Heritage holds data on over 36,000 Roman archaeological sites in England. These are broken down by region in the following table:
