To ask the Secretary of State for Health
(1) what recent assessment he has made of the performance of the Lorenzo computer system;
(2) what assessment he has made of the future of the Lorenzo computer system.
Versions of the Lorenzo computer system are presently used in various national health service trusts and performance is continuously monitored against the service targets set out in the contract with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) who are the local service provider. The Department is presently working closely with CSC on future delivery options for the Lorenzo computer system.
In doing so the Department has taken into account the recent National Audit Office findings, the Public Accounts Committee observations and the Major Project Authority's conclusions on delivery of the National Programme for IT.
