To ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether his Department is conducting nuclear stress tests as required by the European Commission for defence nuclear establishments and reactors.

All duty holders in the defence nuclear programme are undertaking work to consider the application of lessons to be learnt from the Fukushima event. Although outside the scope of the European Commission's remit, this work is being informed by the stress tests developed by the European Nuclear Safety Regulatory Group adapted to be appropriate to the activity concerned.
