To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if he will estimate the potential cost of delaying the introduction of the overall benefit cap for (a) 13 weeks, (b) 26 weeks and (c) 52 weeks for all households who become liable over the course of the period in (i) 2013-14 and (ii) 2014-15.
The following table shows the cost of delaying the introduction of the overall benefit cap for new claims by (a) 13 weeks, (b) 26 weeks and (c) 52 weeks.

Figures are rounded to the nearest £5 million and are estimates. Analysis of those affected by the benefit cap has been modelled using survey data; as such there is a degree of uncertainty around the results
