The school food standards set out the food and drink which can be provided to pupils throughout the school day. The standards allow for the provision of water, fruit juice and milk, or combinations of these, including flavoured milk. However, there is no requirement for schools to provide milk; it is for individual schools or local authorities to decide whether or not to offer school milk to their pupils.
