This Government are determined to support British food and farming. I strongly agree that retailers and the catering industry should give people the opportunity to buy food that is from their local area. To do this we need to provide consumers with honest information on the provenance of the food they buy. This is why clearer origin labelling is a key commitment in the Government's programme.
