To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many appeals for visa applications in the Family Migrant category have (a) been upheld and (b) failed in the last 12 months.
The number of appeals against visa applications allowed and dismissed for the settlement category in the year ending June 2011 (the latest date for which figures are available) were 6,610 allowed and 5,440 dismissed. The number of appeals against visa applications allowed and dismissed for the family visit category for the year ending June 2011 (the latest date for which figures are available) were 16,961 allowed and 18,421 dismissed.
