To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what recent discussions she has had with (a) her ministerial colleagues and (b) university vice-chancellors on cross-border issues in higher education.
The Secretary of State for Wales, my right hon. Friend Mrs Gillan, and I have regular discussions with ministerial colleagues on a range of issues including higher education.
While higher education is devolved in Wales, my right hon. Friend and I take a close interest in this area and we are in the process of meeting with the vice chancellors of Wales' universities to hear their views on this and other matters.
