To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what information his Department holds on the impact on the average cost of construction of an average home of achieving the equivalent of level 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes; and if he will make a statement. [R]
The Code for Sustainable Homes is the voluntary national standard for the design and construction of sustainable new homes. The Department recently published a report updating the estimated cost of implementing the various levels of the code. ‘Cost of Building to the Code for Sustainable Homes—updated cost review’ is available on the Department's website at:
