House of Lords written question – answered at on 12 October 2011.
To ask Her Majesty's Government, following the speech given by the Deputy Prime Minister at the London School of Economics on 14 September 2011, which infrastructure projects will be given special priority status; and what are the practical implications of such a designation.
The Government recognise the critical importance of investment in infrastructure to economic growth. To support this, the Government are currently identifying nationally significant economic infrastructure projects, including across communications, transport and energy, that will be given priority status. Details of the projects and the support that will be given to these infrastructure priorities will be announced before the end of 2011.
