To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many Government Procurement Cards were used by staff of his Department between (a) November 1999 and June 2001, (b) May 2002 and June 2007 and (c) June 2007 and January 2008; and what the (i) name of the supplier, (ii) date and (iii) value was of each transaction during this period.

Information on the number of Government Procurement Cards held by staff and details of the transactions for the periods specified could only be provided at disproportionate cost due to the introduction in August 2007 of a new accounting system for monitoring GPC usage.
